| The faculty members in the Management Information Systems Division are known for world class research. We conduct research on the full breadth of topics in the field, including the analysis, design, and modeling of information systems, the behavioral aspects of how people use and manage systems, and the economic aspects of how to manage and assess investments in information system. Recent students have studied topics such as e-commerce, e-government, IT security, agile development, resistance to IT, and IT strategy. |
Several recent rankings place our division among the top in the world. For example:
- For the years 2008-10, the MIS Division ranked first in the world in terms of the number of publications in the top four research journals in Information Systems (Journal of the Association for Information Systems, Journal of Management Information Systems, Management Information Systems Quarterly, and Information Systems Research) and second in terms of the number of publications in the top two research journals in Information Systems (Management Information Systems Quarterly, and Information Systems Research)
