Class Information
In Winter 2004, COMM 335 Lectures will be taught by Mr. Y.M. Cheung.
Tutorials will be taught by Mr. Weiquan Wang and Mr. Leon Qiu.

There will also be a hands-on lab tutorial each week in HA 409 (PC Lab). Lab tutorials begin THE FIRST WEEK of class.

Note that all emails sent to the instructors have at least a 24 hour turnaround time. It is BEST to use email to contact the instructors.

Skillset Acquired
On successfully completing the course, students can expect to have acquired a strong theoretical foundation in business information systems technology and development and become quite proficient at using the following software tools.

Microsoft Access 2003 including building complex queries, forms, macros, data access pages, and writing VBA procedures to deliver a complete application by the end of the term.

The Hands-On Lab Sessions
The hands-on lab sessions will take students through the basic skills and concepts necessary to complete the assignment.

Non-Commerce students (e.g. students from Computer Science) are to obtain a logon ID for the Commerce PC Lab (from HA 402) as soon as possible before classes commence.

These lab sessions are therefore highly recommended for those who are unfamiliar with database technology in general and Microsoft Access 2003 in particular.

Please note also that these lab sessions are very intense so please come prepared to work very hard for each session.

The instructors will NOT be "making up" for these lessons for students who are absent without prior approval from the undergraduate office.
